How we came to be.

Be Tan – I Am was born from one simple idea: everyone deserves a natural-looking glow in a relaxing, upscale environment — without the high price tag.

Living in New England, I could no longer tolerate having a pale, tired face for eight months of the year. So, I set off on a year-long journey, visiting nearly every sunless tanning salon within driving distance and taking notes each week.

What I found was consistent: many salons offered an array of services — sunbeds, waxing, teeth whitening — but treated sunless tanning as a side project, tucked away in an unremarkable back room with substandard solutions and techniques. Robes and private changing rooms were non-existent. I often endured uncomfortable nights as my skin “heated up” during the suggested waiting times for various unpleasant solutions to “cure.”

Though underwhelmed, I was inspired. I envisioned a different experience — a private oasis featuring two airbrush rooms and two machine rooms (VersaSpa Pro and Mystic Unity), with every detail designed to deliver the best tan possible in a calm, elevated atmosphere, with the ability to have a radiant glow all year long, not just for special occasions.

To complement the experience, I curated a collection of high-quality pre- and post-tan products to enhance and extend your results. Finding affordable yet truly premium products was a challenge, but I believe we’ve built a lineup that’s perfect for your weekly beauty ritual.

We also developed Be tan – I am’s signature line of gentle bath gels and a custom facial tanning mist — formulated in collaboration with an MD/PhD — to nourish the skin and enhance your tanning experience.

At Be tan – I am, we believe you shouldn’t have to wait for summer to feel radiant. Your visit is designed to be your quiet weekly oasis — a place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a premium custom tan from dozens of expertly chosen solutions made just for you.
